CDCs to undergo water sampling

FORT POLK, La. — Installation Management Command will conduct water sampling for the presence of lead at Army facilities where children ages 6 and under may consume a significant amount of drinking water. The sampling is the continuation of a process begun in 2013 to ensure Soldiers, Civilians and Family members have access to safe drinking water.

Army installations are in compliance with regulations concerning testing for lead in drinking water. However, the regular water sampling conducted in accordance with federal, state and local standards does not require additional site-specific testing at child development centers, youth centers and schools.
