Chaplain: ‘More listening, less talking needed today’

“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God” James 1:19-20.

How well are we listening? Sounds like a simple question but often I think we are only hearing what we want to hear.

The story is told of how President Franklin D. Roosevelt got tired of smiling that big smile and saying all the usual things at those White House receptions. So, one evening he decided to find out whether anybody was paying attention to what he was saying.
