Celebrate the birthday of the United States with the “Red, White, Blue and You” festival, which kicks off with a parade down Ryan Street in Lake Charles July 4 at 6 p.m.

The celebration continues at the Lake Charles Civic Center Arcade Pavilion with concessions and a patriotic program at 7 p.m. with the sounds of the Westlake High School Jazz Combo.

The Lake Charles Community Band and conductor Leo Murray will take the stage featuring a salute to the U.S. armed forces and a sing-a-long with the Louisiana Choral Foundation and friends.

The audience is encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and wave complimentary flags. Festival T-shirts will be on sale for $7.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Civic Center Coliseum. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.
