School lunch

The Vernon Parish School Board announces the lunch menu for Monday through April 5. Meals come with choice of milk. Monday: Sliced ham, black eyed peas, steamed green cabbage, mixed fruit and cornbread; Tuesday: Chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, green beans, cantaloupe and hot roll; Wednesday; Sliced ham, green beans, glazed sweet potatoes, fresh strawberries, Easter cake and a hot roll; April 5: Taco salad with corn chips, Mexacilli corn, pear halves and a hot roll.

LaCamp Spring Bazaar

The 13th Annual LaCamp Spring Bazaar is held at LaCamp Church of God Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. There will be food, crafts, country store items, a new-to-you shop and more. Scholarship

The Vernon Historical Society is taking applications from Vernon Parish high school seniors for a scholarship. If you are going into the field of study of history or political science, see your guidance counselor for an application. The scholarship is $300.

Trade Days

Fort Polk Bass Masters

If you like to fish and want to be a part of a group with common interests, whether or not you have a boat, the Fort Polk Community Bass Masters is the right club for you.

Plant a seed

The Alcoholics Anonymous Plant A Seed group hosts meetings just outside the North Fort gate on 1745 Chaffee Rd. Meetings are held Mondays at 7:15 p.m., Tuesdays at 6 p.m., Wednesdays at noon and Fridays at 5 p.m.
