Start off the new year with a furry friend to warm your heart from the Fort Polk Stray Animal Facility. You can’t adopt them all, but you can help out other homeless pets by giving donations to the facility to keep the pets comfortable, so give them a hand in 2012.

Here is a list of needed items:

• Dog food • Kitten food

• Cat toys • Cat food

• Small litter boxes • Puppy food

• Blankets

Donations can be brought to the Fort Polk Vet Clinic or Stray Facility. The facility is located off of La. Hwy 10 after you pass La. Hwy 467 heading south and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. It closes at noon on the last day of each month. For more information call 531-1322.
