The Soldiers, from Operations Group, trained on the VMR-2, or Minehound detectors, May 14-18 with members of the Counter Improvised Explosive Device Integration Cell, or CI2C. The students who took the “train the trainer” course will  instruct Soldiers on the use of the equipment. The Minehound detector is a dual sensor detector that uses ground penetrating radar combined with a metal detector to search for metallic and non-metallic IEDs buried under the soil. This type of equipment can protect Soldiers in Afghanistan from IEDs.
