For the past several years, students from Leesville High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and members of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America have prepared and sent care packages to Fort Polk Soldiers who are currently serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. This year is no exception. The boxes containing toothbrushes, candy, crackers and cheese, pop-tarts, playing cards, soaps and hand sanitizer, among other items, were recently filled and made ready for shipping. Mark Freshley, principal of Leesville High School, observed the students preparing the packages. The LHS Junior ROTC extends a special thank you to West Louisiana Dental Center for their support in providing toothbrushes.
