Black History Month culminates with celebration

FORT POLK, La. — The Warrior Community Center was packed Feb. 24 as people talked, enjoying the atmosphere and preparing to take in the spirit of the day. The Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk day was celebrating Black History Month at the center by recognizing the contributions of African Americans, past and present, in America’s history. Guest speakers Command Sgt. Maj. Clarence Richardson and Col. Farrell Duncombe, both of the 6th Battalion, 162nd Infantry Brigade, shared their insight and sense of national pride with the attendees.
